| Chelsea Nedrow-Kidder
Instructor of Jazz Dance, Tap Dance and Contemporary Dance
At only two years of age Chelsea began her dance career at Dance Dynamics Performing Arts Center. She trained in many dance styles ranging from ballet, jazz, tap, modern, contemporary, musical theater, and hip-hop to ballroom. Furthermore, Chelsea trained across the country including New York City, Los Angeles, Las Vegas, Chicago and others. At Walt Disney World in Orlando she was honored to perform several years with Disney’s Magic Music Days. She has competed nationally and was twice awarded a New York City Dance Alliance Outstanding Dancer scholarship.
Continuing her passion, she graduated from the University of Arizona in 2013 with a BFA in Dance while also receiving a Special Education and Rehabilitation minor. Chelsea was selected among her fellow dance majors, to perform in Martha Graham’s Panorama. The piece was staged by Miki Orihara, and performed in a Martha Graham Dance Company Concert. The dean of the University of Arizona’s College of Dance single handedly selected Chelsea’s capstone choreography piece to be performed at private donor events.
After graduating, Chelsea landed a spot in the Broadway Theater Project where she trained with well renowned faculty such as Ben Vereen, Debra McWaters, Herman Payne, Donna McKechnie and several others. She was one of 40 to train at Jennifer Archibald’s ArchCore40 Dance Intensive in New York City. More recently Chelsea joined the NBA’s Detroit Pistons Dancers. Performances included special guests like Jana Kramer, Bret Michaels, B.O.B., Ray J, Gloria Gaynor, Silento, Darryl “DMC” McDaniels and more. While also in Detroit she helped establish the NFL Detroit Lions Cheerleaders as an inaugural member. Since moving with her husband to San Antonio, she is practicing cosmetology as a hair artist. Chelsea loves sharing her experiences and expertise with young professionals by teaching and encouraging hungry young artists to continue their growth.
