Instructor of Ballet and Progressing Ballet Technique, specializes in dance for young children
Jenée Blanco began her early dance training at the age of 7 at the American School of Ballet Arts in West Lafayette, Indiana and later developed a love for classical ballet while receiving her pre-professional training under Sandra Peticolas at the Lafayette Ballet School. In high school, she received additional ballet training with Dale Shields at the Jordan Academy of Dance, the former affiliate dance school of Butler University in Indianapolis, and also attended the late Jurgen Schneider's Russian Ballet Seminar in Michigan. At the age of 18, Jenée moved to New York City to study as a scholarship student at the Joffrey Ballet School, where she trained under Francesca Corkle, Dorothy Lister, and the late John Magnus. While at the Joffrey Ballet School, she was invited to apprentice with the Joffrey II Dancers. Jenée danced professionally with Ballet Omaha, Ballet Rotaru, and Ballet Magnificat. She enjoys working with children and is excited to return to the ballet studio to share her love of ballet as a teacher. Jenée particularly has a passion and talent for teaching young dancers as she engages them in creative ways of learning and exploring dance. In addition to instructing dance, Jenée is also certified to teach Pilates and Progressing Ballet Technique. Jenée has lived in San Antonio for 13 years where she has helped run her family's coffee business with her husband and five children.
