Musical Theatre Program Specifics:

DCSA’s Musical Theatre Program is open to male and female students ages 6+.

Our program encompasses a wide range of disciplines that form the cornerstone of musical theatre:

  • Voice: Unleash the power of your voice and master the art of vocal performance. Our voice classes help students develop their vocal range, projection, and expression, preparing them to sing their hearts out on the stage.

  • Broadway Jazz: Get ready to groove and move with the infectious energy of Broadway. Students will explore the dynamic world of jazz dance, incorporating the stylized movements that define musical theatre choreography.

  • Tap: The rhythmic beat of tap dance adds a unique flair to musical theatre. Our tap classes teach students the intricate footwork and precision that are hallmarks of this beloved dance style.

  • Ballet: The elegance and grace of ballet are essential components of musical theatre. Students will refine their technique, posture, and grace through ballet training.

  • Any additional styles from DCSA’s Open Division Classes

Pre-Professional Training - Students Ages 6 and up

For those who aspire to take their training to the next level, our Pre-Professional track is available starting at age 6. This track offers advanced training, challenging repertoire, and opportunities for intensive growth and development. Performers in the Pre-professional Musical Theatre program attend a set number of training per week including Musical Theatre class and rehearsal, Broadway Jazz, Tap, Ballet and more. DCSA offers two Pre-professional Musical Theatre pathways:

Pre-professional Day Training Program:

  • rigorous training for our most dedicated performers age 10+ with interest and ability to pursue a deeper study of musical theater

  • small, intimate class setting

  • meets during the day to allow for performance and audition opportunities, and increased hours of training

  • classes and content designed to build on foundational skills with an intent on mastering artistry and performance techniques

Pre-professional Afternoon Training Program

  • performers age 10+ with interest in musical theatre training focus

  • classes after-school and Saturday hours
