Adult Dance Program
The Dance Center of San Antonio offers a variety of classes for all levels of adult students. Whether you are just starting out or have previous dance experience, we would love for you to join us! Dance is beneficial for adult students in many ways as it helps to improve core strength, flexibility, coordination as well as challenges you cognitively! Adult classes are taught by our amazing DCSA faculty who have danced in professional careers and trained at collegiate programs. Classes offered in our Adult Program are geared toward dancers ages 18 and older.
Adult Dance Program Details:
Open to male and female students ages 18 and up. Any skill and training level is welcome, you do not need to have previous experience to join our classes!

Thursday 8:30-9:30 am
The Adult level ballet class offers training appropriate for beginner to advanced level students. Ballet training helps to improve flexibility, coordination, strength, and balance. In addition, because it is also an art-form, ballet dancers have the opportunity to do all this in an expressive form that is augmented by the use of musicality and creativity. This class will help students who are not familiar with ballet to learn the vocabulary and will give dancers with previous dance experience the opportunity to continue to learn!
Tuesday 6:30-7:30 pm
Contemporary dance combines ballet and modern techniques with musical and emotional expression with a strong focus on dynamics, contractions and release, off-center balances and suspension. This class will bring awareness to the feet, spine, and pelvis while focusing on articulating the body parts. Students will also work on the ability to learn and understand stylized movements and choreography. Previous dance experience is not required!
Thursday 6:30-7:30 pm
The Dance Center of San Antonio is thrilled to announce our new Adult Tap class. Tap is a low-stress way to have fun, burn a few calories .... and all without kids! All levels are welcome - this class will explore the fundamentals of Tap Dance and rhythm in a relaxed environment!
Adult Conditioning and Flexibility
Saturday 9:00-10:00 am
Conditioning and Flexibility will focus on developing strength and flexibility in dancers. This class is beneficial taken on its own as a fitness class, or as a compliment to help you improve in your dance classes! During the hour long work out, students will focus on strengthening deep core and back muscles, muscles in the arms and shoulders and in the legs and ankles. Exercises focus on creating strong and lean muscles like dancers develop through their training! Flexibility training is just as comprehensive and will develop mobility in the legs, upper body as well as in the back!
