Adult Dance Program
The Dance Center of San Antonio offers a variety of classes for Adult students. All levels of dancers are welcome. Whether you are just starting out or have previous dance experience, we would love for you to join us. Classes offered in our Adult Program are geared toward dancers ages 18 and older, see below for a list of all the Adult Classes offered at DCSA!

The Adult level ballet class offers training appropriate for beginner to advanced level students. Ballet training helps to improve flexibility, coordination, strength, and balance. In addition, because it is also an art-form, ballet dancers have the opportunity to do all this in an expressive form that is augmented by the use of musicality and creativity. This class will help students who are not familiar with ballet to learn the vocabulary and will give dancers with previous dance experience the opportunity to continue to learn!
Contemporary dance combines ballet and techniques with musical and emotional expression with a strong focus on dynamics, contractions and release, off-center balances and suspension. This class will bring awareness to the feet, spine, and pelvis while focusing on articulating the body parts. Students will also work on the ability to learn and understand stylized movements and choreography. Previous dance experience is not required!
Adult Contemporary Workshop
Contemporary combines ballet and modern techniques with musical and emotional expression with a strong focus on dynamics, contractions and release, off-center balances and suspension. This workshop class is geared toward expanding vocabulary of movement and personal skills for both dancers and dance educators. Take this class weekly to give yourself a chance to move and stretch beyond your limits and to hone your skills! Intermediate to advanced dancers welcome.
The Dance Center of San Antonio is thrilled to announce our new Adult Tap class. This is a fun, low-stress way to have fun, burn a few calories .... and all without kids! All levels are welcome - this class will explore the fundamentals of Tap Dance and rhythm in a relaxed environment!
Pilates is a precision-based group of exercises which first focus on the core (abdominal and back muscles) and then branch out to strengthen and tone the entire body. The non-impact strengthening exercises are performed on mats and sometimes use fitness props such as Therabands, circles and light weights. Pilates Mat is an excellent avenue to strengthen the core, tone muscles and improve flexibility, balance, posture and alignment white promoting a feeling of physical and mental well-being!
