Musical Theatre Program

Cue the lights!  Cue the music! We’re Launching a full Musical Theatre Program at DCSA!

DCSA’s Musical Theatre Program provides dancers and actors interested in studying Musical Theatre with foundational classes in Broadway Jazz, Tap and Ballet as well as essential skills unique to musical theatre including: stage direction, character development through song and dance and learning a choreographed routine. Our Musical Theatre program will culminate in a performance of a full length production (TBA) at the end of the year!

Musical Theatre students will learn from top-notch DCSA Faculty including University of Arizona Graduate Chelsea Nedrow-Kidder. Dancers can begin training in the Musical Theatre Program at age 6, and if they wish to pursue more rigorous training, can begin our Pre-Professional track at age 12.

Program Specifics:

DCSA’s Musical Theatre Program is open to male and female students ages 6 to 19.

Dancers in the Musical Theatre Program have the opportunity to take the following classes:

  • Musical Theatre Class and Rehearsal

  • Broadway Jazz

  • Tap

  • Ballet

  • Any additional styles from DCSA’s Open Division Classes

Pre-Professional Training - Students Ages 12 and up

For Dancers 12 and up who wish to pursue a professional or collegiate path in Musical Theatre, we are excited to offer our Pre-Professional Training Program. Dancers in the Pre-Professional Track are accepted by audition or by invitation only! Please contact us today to receive complete program information, including requirements and scheduling.

Dancers in the Pre-Professional Musical Theatre Track will attend 6.5 hours of training per week including Musical Theatre class and rehearsal, Broadway Jazz, Tap, and Ballet.
