Katherine Shane
Ballet, PBT, Jazz Instructor
Katherine Shane began her dance journey at the age of 12 through a few different studios in San Antonio, was a member of the Canyon High School Aristocats in New Braunfels, TX and became a member of the Kilgore College Rangerettes. A highlight of her performance career includes dancing at George W. Bush's second inauguration, and receiving the role of Arabian in the Nutcracker.
Her teaching career commenced at 21 as the Ballet Director at Tina Grider School of Dance in Longview and has continued at various Texas studios over the last 20 years. Katherine is now a new hire at the esteemed Dance Center of San Antonio. She is dedicated to expanding her knowledge and is certified in Progressing Ballet Technique (PBT) and Acrobatic Arts, She is currently achieving her Vaganova Ballet Certification through Russian Ballet International with the Bolshoi Ballet based in Moscow, Russia. Katherine continuously refines her pedagogical approach by utilizing resources such as the Dance Teacher Web Conference, Ballet Conrad Institute, and Pilates by Dolly.
